Stewart Building Group: NEED HELP?
"Not your typical contractor!"
- Patios, retaining walls, hardscapes:
-
1) If a snow plow hits my wall, should I have it fixed immediately or wait until spring?
- Temporary repairs can be made as soon as snow is removed; the biggest thing is to be sure nothing will topple. Final repairs should wait until the spring when all frost is out of the ground this will insure a wall being straight and sound.
Water Damage:
- 1) Can you repair a crack in the foundation in the middle of winter so I don't get damage in the spring?
- Water is stronger then most people give it credit for. You can seal a crack in the winter, but if you don’t stop it at the source it will come in at the next weakest point. Biggest source is downspouts and landscape.
Interior:
- 1) Do the window plastic coverings that you blow dry to seal really work?
- Yes it is an outstanding product to stop drafty windows.
Landscaping:
- 1) Should I take out all my dead annuals or just leave them and plan over them next year?
- 2) Should I cut back my oramental grasses before the winter?
- Check back for the answers to these questions
Waterscaping:
- 1) How should I winterize my outdoor fish pond?
- Ponds do need to be winterized, depending on the size is what it will entail and if you have fish.
Stewart Building Group is happy to offer suggestions and tips for your convenience.
